Alaron News
April News
- The State of Pennsylvania has been granted agreement state status for the regulation of certain radioactive materials.
Alaron will now be regulated in part by the State of Pennsylvania's Radiological Control Division which is headed by
Mr. David Allard. We look forward to an open and engaging relationship with Mr. Allard's staff.
- In the month of April Alaron will start the first phase of its site habitat restoration plan. Alaron employees and
volunteers from Lawrence County will remove debris and material from a portion of Alaron's site that is slated for an
interpretive nature trail. Once the cleanup is finished the work on the trail will start.
Welding Program
- Alaron has spent the last several months working with various suppliers, consumers and technical experts
on the industry requirements of developing a "Qualified Welding Program". Once Alaron had a clear understanding
of the requirements of such a program, a clear path forward was determined. Through the efforts of the "Team" that
came together to put this welding program in place at Alaron, we are almost there!
The welding procedures have been written, reviewed and approved. In just a couple of weeks, Alaron's Welding Program
will be "Qualified" in accordance with the Industries Welding Standards. After the "Program" is qualified the "Welders"
will be certified/qualified under this program.
The reason for Alaron to obtain such a Welding Program came from the request of a customer.
With Alaron having a Qualified Welding Program, our customer(s) will realize a substantial cost savings.
This program has developed a "Win Win" situation for our customer(s) and Alaron.
Alaron has been working hard over the last several years to develop and implement the infrastructure necessary
in order to support various service providers that support the Nuclear Industry. Our web page lists many services
that support these efforts. Take a Look!
