NUKEM Opens its Fixed Based Processing Facility at Alaron - NRC Issues License Amendment
The RWE NUKEM FBF offers the nuclear industry a cost-effective and financially sound alternative for off-site processing of liquid radioactive waste material. At the FBF RWE NUKEM will utilize its field proven Advanced Liquid Concentration (ALCON) technologies, such as its Concentrate-Dryer, Demineralization, Dewatering, and Ultra-Filtration / Reverse Osmosis Systems to process and volume reduce a wide-variety of liquid based radioactive waste streams including sludges, evaporator bottoms, resins, etc. The Waste Acceptance Criteria (WAC) for sending waste material to the FBF may be accessed at www.nukem.com.
